The All-Japan Federation of National Health Insurance Organizations (Kokuho Chuoukai) is an incorporated body established in January 1959 with the approval of the Minister of Health and Welfare. Its objective is to promote and achieve the healthy management and development of the NHI and Long-term Care Insurance programs, thereby contributing to improvements in social security and people's health.
Kokuho Chuoukai is composed of the 47 prefectural National Health Insurance Organizations (Kokuho Rengoukai).
Management system
The federation is managed by two organs: the general meeting, which is the legislative organ, and the board of directors, which is the executive organ.
The general meeting is attended by representatives of Kokuho Rengoukai, and the board of directors consists of the directors (20 to 25) elected at the general meeting from among Kokuho Rengoukai's representatives and experts.
